Catch up time!

I've been a very bad blogger.

I never finished blogging my comic-con trip, I went to Forks again for Stephenie Meyer day, I went on a family history trip to Paris, Idaho with my sister, I met up with some friends in Vegas, and I did a mini family trip to Seattle.... all of which are not on here. Well, at least I did blog about my first trip to Forks. But I have a lot of catch up to do...

Which I'm starting now....

So here's the rest of Comic Con after the Twilight Panel -

We stayed in Hall H because Gerard Butler was in a panel at the end of the day, how could we possibly leave before he arrived?

We watched Wolverine vs the Hulk... the sound wasn't the best on it. But they did have Deadpool in it and I sure enjoyed him!

We sat through a panel with The Rock

And a panel that had Rain, he's a big Korean singer and he's in a new Ninja Assassin movie, which looked good but it's going to be a bloody one!

And then came Gerard Butler!

One of the ladies that we met in line, for the life of me I can't remember her name, was in line for Gerard and she brought with her the boxers he wore in 'P.S. I Love you." She showed them to us while we waited in line and they were awesome...

And may I say that he is so cute and funny!

To be Continued....

Holy GAMBIT!!!!

So, a few posts ago I was discussed Hugh Jackman surprising us at Comic Con and that he showed the room a clip of the Wolverine movie. And in that clip was a glimpse of Gambit and I, along with others, exploded with glee.

Well here are the first pictures of Taylor Kitsch as Gambit!!

*does a happy dance*

He was SO cute in the clip!!!

*does a happy dance*

I finally have a Gambit!!!

*does a happy dance*

(Of course I still really like No-chan's idea of Micheal Vartan as Gambit... that idea is very yummy!)

Time to throw down the pom poms

Its Civil War time!

I sketched this a couple of years ago but never finished. I decided today was finally the time I drew it out, inked and colored it.

I'm taking a co-worker's shift on Saturday so she can go to the civil war game. She's a HUGE Beavers fan, so I told her "I'll only work your shift if you wear
green and yellow and yell 'Go Ducks!' at least one time during the game." "That's not happening in a million years" she replied. Yet, I'm so nice I still took her shift.

I'm thankful for....

In no particular order....
Jesus Christ and my religion! I'm so thankful that everyday I have the opportunity to get to know and grow closer to Christ, my Lord.

Freedom of our country! I'm so thankful that we have the right to speak our mind and fight for what we believe is right. We have the freedom to decide our own life and pursue higher education if we so desire (which we all should) We are truly blessed to be living in the land of the free.

Batman! Without Batman I don't know what my life would be like. He's the fighter of justice with amazing toys and a rich cute playboy by day. What more could you ask for? (Loved the comics when I read them, love the cartoons, and love the movies!)

Black Nail Polish! How else can I let my inner goth out?

Chocolate! Oh... I love chocolate so much. Do I need to explain this one?

Mariokart & the DS! I love it when the kids come over and we break out the DSes and all play Mariokart. I really suck at this game but it's so much fun.

Clouds! I love the clouds and I love to photograph the sky. I think the clouds add so much beauty to the world. I could sit all day admiring them. (I took this photograph at Bear Lake, ID)

Strong Women in History! A couple months ago while I visited the air museum in Seattle I learned that there were female fighter pilots during World War II - they were called the Wasps. One of these days I'm going to take a class in women history because these women who fought for the right to vote, equality, and etc are amazing role models.

My Family! I'm so thankful for my family. We're always there for each other and we have a lot fun!

My nieces and nephews! I love these kids!

My friends! They're always there for me to cheer me up and to keep me going. They're the best. (The photograph is my Miriam)

The creators of Avatar the Last Airbender! Without them I wouldn't have this amazing show to watch. They're very smart, funny, and do great character designs! (I love this show!)

"3rd Rock from the Sun" reruns! I love this show and I can spend hours watching it. It's brilliant and makes me laugh so much!

Another tag

Aren't you glad it's not another Twilight post?

My sister tagged anyone that reads her blog, so here I go:

Driving down Kuebler there's a lone tree on a hill. Every time I drive by it I want to take a picture. One day in June I was driving by and I thought the clouds were beautiful and the sunset was gorgeous. So here's my 4th file out of my 4th folder. This folder has not been weeded through, so this is not my favorite shot from this shoot but I had to abide by the rules.

I tag anyone that reads this.

Rules: Go to your picture folder - go into your 4th folder - grab your 4th file and post it with an explanation. Have fun!

I have one more....

I have to post pictures of our Twilight midnight showing and then I'll be able to move onto other topics... I swear!

I arrived after work (around 6) and I heard from Val that there were people that arrived at 9:00 am. These are some hard core fans!

It was a chilly night but luckily it didn't rain. It was raining earlier that day and it was supposed to rain the evening too. We so lucked out!

Wendy was awesome and brought a little space heater and that was nice to have!

And my co-workers came because they love Twilight too. Sasha (the one in the right picture) is my high school texting buddy on Twilight. LOL (She's the one I made the Jasmine costume for halloween, isn't she cute?!) Amy (in the picture on the left) has recently converted to the ways of Twilight.

There were several people from church that I ran into. Oh, and I decided to wear my "La Push" Sweatshirt in honor of the evening.

It was a fun night! I forgot to take pictures of us racing the Cullen's cars.

Val won the first game and Amy won the second one.

They both received sparkly lip gloss.

Around 9:15 / 9:20 Sarah and Laura came. They didn't have to wait in line for too long because they let us in at 10:00. But that didn't stop everyone from making sure Laura was warm. This was her second outing and she can't get sick so everyone was watching out for her. It was very cute!

Notice the "Deer" drink? I had supplied "Grizzly Bear", "Mountain Lion", and "Deer" blood drinks. Since we're vegitarians we had no human blood, sorry!

Here is my self portrait in line and the gift bags I made for people. And does anyone want to play Twilight Bingo? We played it while we waited inside and it was fun. My sister took pictures inside so you can find that here.

22 November 2008

I would like to blog about something else...

But that's just not possible right now. I loved the Twilight movie! Most of the people I know loved / liked it and only 2 people I've personally talked to didn't like it. Here's what I've discovered from talking to people:

1. The ones that have not read the book have loved it.
2. The ones that recently read the book (like days / weeks before seeing the movie) don't like it.

When it comes to movies based on books I go in with a clean slate not comparing it to the book AT ALL. I know the book will always be better, so I go in to enjoy the ride the movie will offer me. Otherwise you'll be disappointed.

I'm now going into the movie just a bit but I'm going to keep it general but beware and stop reading now if you don't want to know anything.

1. At first I thought the portrayal of Jasper was odd. But the more I thought about it, it made sense because Jasper is new and struggling to the vegetarian life style so of course he's going to look uncomfortable around humans. It was something I never imagined while I read but it makes complete sense. Genius I say!

2. I really liked everyone that played the Cullens. Amanda & I talked about how we liked that Rosalie wasn't stick thin and she's still gorgeous. Haha, I really liked Rosalie. Oh and Alice... she was adorable. I really liked the Robert dude as Edward.... yeah... good stuff

3. Vampire Baseball..... I LOVE this scene! Amazing.

4. I really liked the filmography.... is that even a word? I liked how it had that dark look to it... I don't know if that makes any sense. But I liked it.

5. I wish there was more kissing! Don't get me wrong the main kissing scene that we got was definitely.... um... *fans self* hot... yeah.

6. People can't complain about the beach scene not being sunny because what you see in the movie is a realistic day at the coast. We don't have "beaches" in the Northwest we have the coast. Where surfers have to wear wet suits or else they get hypothermia. Where you always have to have a jacket even in the middle of the summer

Oh, I just love the northwest.

I'll upload some photos from our midnight party for Twilight!

New Layout

I've been wanting to change my layout for awhile now and I figured this is an excellent time. And since I'm so excited for the Twilight movie, I thought it would be a perfect theme for my new layout!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Last night was our traditional outing to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

I LOVE going to their show! They put on an amazing concert (pyro-technics, fireworks, a laser-light show & awesome music of course!)

My first time seeing them I was in SLC and I just fell in love with their string master. She rocked out on the violin just like the guys rocked out on the guitars!

But when the show started this year I noticed the string master was lacking some things and therefore was a dude. I was bummed.

But then a little bit into the first song they started lowering people from the ceiling and there was a female violinist among the guitars and I got all excited... but alas it wasn't her.

Don't get me wrong they both were very good and the show was still amazing, I really enjoyed it. But I just absolutely LOVE watching
Anna Phoebe play. (I really do hope that next year she'll be back on the West Coast tour instead of the East Coast.)

Check her out here
