This is part 1 of who knows how many. I'm going to try and not be long winded. I'm sure you're thinking "Just get to the pictures already" (I'm working on it.)
I arrived in Anchorage just after midnight and after some sleep I was ready for an Alaskan Adventure!

Why Alaska, you ask. Normally I would answer "because I can" but this was more than that, it was to visit my brother Steve. And this is Steve who lives in Alaska, he's so awesome.

After I woke up refreshed we drove down to Homer. We had to make it to Homer before 6 (that's when the last flight left) so I wasn't able to stop and take pictures. So I had to do what I loving call "drive-by"

I saw my first bald eagle on this drive, sitting majestically in a tree top. Saw many mountain sheep and one even came to down to the road (I was told they rarely come down.) I saw a pair of swans out in the water near the road as well. We passed a frozen lake and some people were on the side of the road, so I'm looking to see what they're looking at and it was a bear! Steve pulled over immediately and told me "Well I guess the bears are awake" We make our way over to see a mommy bear and two cubs.

As we drove down the Homer spit we saw many more bald eagles, one was flying next to our car it was that low! We had reservations at a place in Seldovia and the only way to get there is to go by boat or take a flight. Boats aren't running until May (most things aren't open until May 1st or Memorial day weekend) so plane it was. I was excited for our small plane ride cause it will be a sight seeing tour in one!
