So anyways, I moved into my new flat yesterday and spent the whole day unpacking and cleaning. Dinner time came and I wanted to cook this quiche I bought the other night. But I wasn't able to get my oven/stove on. I checked to make sure it was plugged in, but I couldn't find the outlet (the cord went into the wall). I contacted my letting office but it was after 5 so I knew they were closed and wouldn't get back to me until today. I was surprised to get an answer back saying he'll be by today and letting me know that he has a microwave if I need it. You bet I need it!
Have you seen "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz? If so, remember the morning after she met Jude Law's character for the first time and was trying to make coffee but she couldn't get it to work? He proceeds to show her the plug and she states "Oh, you plug them in over here" and after his back is turned she has this look on her face that reads "Can I be anymore stupid?"
Yeah... I can relate.
My oven/stove's outlet wasn't turned on. I felt like saying "Oh yeah, you turn them on over here." But in my defense it's not one that a plug goes into, it's just a switch on the wall! And I didn't see him switch it one when he testing everything. LOL Yeah, I felt stupid. Good thing he was bringing me a microwave because that would have been a waste of a trip.
So I ate the quiche tonight and it was yummy!

That is a little different, I wouldn't have known to switch the plug on. I bet it saves on electricity. When we went to Fiji and checked into the hotel the first night, the lights wouldn't work. We call the front desk......you have to put the room key in a slot by the light switch. It's a good idea IF you know about it ;).
HILARIOUS!!!! Who'd have thunk!!
