But I was unaware of one thing... the cream of chicken soup is SOUP here not condensed soup. Therefore it wasn't a sauce it was a soup. A stroganoff soup with noodles. LOL
Obviously I'm going to have to make the sauce by hand now instead of using cream of chicken (condensed) soup, so I'm going to scour the internet for a easy yummy white sauce recipe to use for my stroganoff.
This is going to take some experimenting! But I'll obviously have the time.
Ai-yai-ai... I still feel like a lost little puppy dog around here trailing after Mary. LOL When I get frustrated with this I remember I've only been here for a week and I'm still getting my bearings.
Well Mary took me to the local council office where I got registered for the council tax for my flat and registered to vote. (Except now that I think about it I think I forgot to sign the registration form before the lady took it.)
You may be wondering what a council tax is. Basically think of it as the utilities. Areas are zoned in different "bands" and everyone pays the monthly amount for that band and this covers water, sewage, etc. So the only thing I'll be paying for is electricity, which my flat is set-up on pay as you go. (I have a card and I put 30 quid on it and as I use the electricity it deducts it from the card.) Most excellent for a budget.
I think on Monday I'm going to go down to my new town and walk around and check it out.

Do you have to buy a TV license (we did in London) if you have a TV? I had to laugh at the "soup incident", it probably won't be your last surprise!! ;) I'm with everyone else, send lots of pictures, it helps seeing what you see.
Such interesting information - and all so exciting.
Easy white sauce recipe:
4 Tbls butter
4 Heaping Tbls flour
Milk to thin - maybe about 3 - 4 cups.
Melt the butter, Whisk in the flour and cook for several minutes - but don't let it burn or begin to brown. Add milk a little at a time to thin - keep adding milk until it is the consistency you desire. Add whatever spices you'd like to add - and Viola! White sauce!
