The knee bone is connected to the thigh bone....

There has been a slight change of plans to my move. There was a painting issue and the apartment won't be ready until Tuesday for me (instead of tomorrow). You know, maybe I watch too much Project Runway because I live by Tim's comment of "make it work." Over the years I have learned things in life will not go as planned, there's no point in getting stressed over a slight change of plans. You make it work. You find another way to achieve what needs to be done. And usually those change in plans end up being for the best.

So when I was talking to the letting office, I was formulating a plan since Mary and Luis need to finish packing and move that same week, so I decided to look for a hotel in my area that way I could give them back their living room.

Mary nixed that idea so I will still be here until move in time.

I haven't really gone out to buy items I'll need because I was going to be taking my stuff on multiple trips on the bus, because I have to be able to find a way to move by myself. So I was just going to take several bus trips (like 4). It would take all day and would be extremely annoying, but it's do-able. Then I'd get the stuff I need after I move because I will be by stores. So that was my plan.

Again, Mary nixed that idea. We've arranged it so I'll be moving before her and Luis go to work on Tuesday so they'll drive me and my stuff down. So I guess that means it's time to shop! So, I went online today and reserved a bunch of items at the local store which I'll pick up tomorrow.

Every day I've gone on a walk through town. Some have been quick walks but some have been long. A couple of days I did venture down to my new area and it was raining that day BUT it didn't rain while I was out exploring. After I got on the bus to return to East Kilbride it started to rain again.

Oh yes, I saw two, yes two, full arched rainbows that day. Yes, the Lord loves me. :-) I have this thought every time I see something beautiful in nature and it makes me chuckle every time because it's a bit selfish. I always take it as a gift to me from the Lord. Not for you, for me. I'm sure he means it for you all as well.... which is why I always chuckle at the thought.

Hmmm... I digress.

SO, as I've said before this move is for me to nourish my creative side, to work on family history, and to have a grand adventure of life. Now, if you all have seen me online during the day don't be making the assumption that I have been spending my days on my butt watching TV. I will admit the TV has been on but I need background noise (I think it's because I grew up in a large family - strangely enough the background helps me focus).

Anyways, after my daily walks I've been working on any of the following:
- I've been gathering easy recipes and making a food schedule. Making food and less take away (haha, that's what take out is called here) is good for the budget.

- I've been looking up classes. Remember how I was making jewelry and I almost opened up an Etsy shop? Well there's a lot of ideas in my head that I want to make but I didn't have the know-how. I have found several classes that are 10-weeks long that will give me that know-how. (I'm SO excited!!) And I've been mapping it from my new flat (I have to make sure the bus/train will get me home after the evening class) and looking up how to apply.

- I have a new story idea that I'm developing and I've been having new ideas for existing stories

- I am organizing my family history files. When I was talking to Derek, I asked if he would like to work on family history and he would but didn't know where to start. I told him once I have everything organized and I know what I have I'll send it his way as a "starter packet" and between us siblings we'll have assignments. (The start packet will work with any of you other siblings! Laura, do you think you might be able to add to the starter packet with stuff you have?)

I have decided I'm going to use DPS to help my photography grow. They have such amazing articles and ideas, it's an excellent resource for photography and I'm going to use it.

OH! Mary has a great book collection (Kim, you and Mary would have a blast talking books!) She let me raid the books she was giving away. So I have some books to read in my new flat.

What have you guys been up to?

I do love books, unless you were talking to a different Kim, but then I'd still love books so it doesn't matter :-)

Glad you are having such a good time and are staying with such a nice family who is obviously very helpful and kind ~ I love those kind of people!

As for what I've been up to, you can check out my latest blog post ~ phew!

Miss ya! Maybe one of the things you could work on after your family history would be to learn how to dismantle a bomb with a paper clip and a junior mint.....hahaha
