I just saw a commercial for the New Monopoly and there isn't cash, instead there are cards and an electronic piece that is used to credit / debit the funds.
It makes sense since our society seems to be getting away from cash and more into the credit / debit cards. But personally I think Monopoly isn't the same without the cash.... that's what makes it so fun, for me at least.
It is so weird that you posted this because I read it just after a Postmodern class where we talked about all kinds of crazy stuff that has to do with changing from cash to plastic to computer stuff....anyway maybe I will blog about it. BUT I definitely can't see Monopoly being any fun without play money. Who doesn't love those stacks of 500's piling up as you collect rent on your properties?? I think I need a Monopoly fix, I am kind of a fanatic lol

I agree! Monopoly is not the same without cash! And neither is our society! If we would go back to cash, we would have less problems! =)
