Like it or not Hollywood has a lot of power and I find it sad that they're now only talking about bullying. And that they're only talking about the teen gay bullying.
What about the other kids that are being bullied because they're fat, they're too skinny, they're too tall, they're short, they're quirky, or just because someone is feeling bad about himself / herself and just targets someone out of spite?
What about those kids?
They deserve a voice as well.
They deserve people to fight for them.
No they're not gay, but should it matter?
They're being bullied just as much and suicides have resulted from these as well.
We've all been there as the "hormones going out of whack, self-conscience about ourself, trying to fit in, trying to find ourself" teenager. And I'm sure more than one of you reading this have been a victim of bullying during those years.
Remember how it felt? But we didn't have the cyber-bullying. Man, when you throw internet into the mix you get vicious attacks. People get MEAN when they're anonymous.
I would like to see the day when kids aren't being protected because they're gay and being bullied but just because they're being bullied.
And if anyone stumbles across this entry and is being bullied. You don't need to feel alone. Don't feel that you did something wrong. I know it's hard and scary but take your parents aside and talk to them. Voice what is happening to you. Yes it'll be scary, but you need to do it for you.
On another note, I'm moving into my flat so I won't have internet right away. Sorry but updates on my adventure in Scotland will just have to wait. :-)
And an update on the condensed cream of chicken soup. I must be blind. Mary said it was next to the soups but I couldn't find it AT ALL! Cindy, I guess I'll be using your white sauce recipe after all.
Cheers!

I absolutely agree with this post!
I am sad you will not have internet for awhile...it is so fun to catch up on all you are doing! =)
Have fun...and post as soon as you get the chance!
One of my cousins posted something very similar on facebook....I totally agree!! Good luck with the move!
Adults need to stand up for these kids that are being bullied too... where are the teachers on the play ground? Do the teachers EVERY SEE THIS going on? Are they afraid of the bullies too? Are the bullies parents giving perks or $$$ to the schools? Heaven forbid, what if you offend one of these bullies OR their parents. Of course many parents "know" their little angels wouldn't bully anyone. SO many blind eyes to the problem, so it builds!
I agree. The media is showing that ONLY gay/lesbian kids are being bullied. So NOT the case. I feel for anyone being bullied, but think that the WHOLE issue needs brought about, not just the LGBT community issue of it.
hmm how interesting, I was just litening to Dr Laura a couple of weeks ago and this 17 year old guy called in with his Mom. He attends an arts school and is a dancer... he gets bullied because he's not gay and the school wasn't going to do anything about it. Funny how hipocritical(sp) people are sometimes. I agree 100% Steph it shouldn't matter who, how, what or why but just the fact that someone is being bullied that should be addressed. Thanks for your post.
