It's about freaking time 8c of 9

I love museums!  I visited the Musee d'Orsay by myself but didn't visit the Musee du Louvre until I found out how JoElla was feeling.  Out of the two museums I knew she wanted to visit the Louvre so I thought I'd be nice and wait for her...

... so I wandered around the grounds and took photos.  (I tend to put my hand on my hip a lot in photos)

Don't you just love how people are chilling on the grounds of the Louvre?

Yay, JoElla was feeling better!  So that evening we went to the Louvre.

JoElla doesn't remember seeing the Venus di Milo but she does remember the hermaphrodite statue.  Classic JoElla.

This is not the hermaphrodite statue.

Did you know the Louvre used to be a Medieval Castle?  (I knew that because of the show "Who Do You Think You Are?"  Brooke Shields had an ancestor born in the Louvre.)  Here's some of it's foundation...

... and here's a replica.  (To me it's like a classic fairy tale castle)

And here's me entertaining myself as I sit in an alcove waiting for JoElla.  (I was making funny faces into the camera but they're hideous and can't be viewed by other people.... sorry!)

Surprise!  JoElla really wasn't really feeling better she was just drugged up.  Sadly her fever returned just after we got to the Louvre... and that's why she doesn't remember seeing the Venus di Milo (I think the brain cells holding the memory of the Venus di Milo were destroyed with her 106 degree fever. PS - we didn't know she was that sick!)

Can I pick a great time to visit the Louvre or what?

Why yes that is the Mona Lisa.  Why yes it took me less than a minute to get to the front of the crowd to see it.

More to come....
