It's Thanksgiving because I'm an American. It's not Thanksgiving because I'm living in Scotland and there's no Thanksgiving over here.
A lovely person I met at church (when I went to the wrong ward) has invited me over for Thanksgiving dinner, which I'm super excited for! She said if she fails at a Thanksgiving dinner then we'll order some chinese take-away or something. I'm sure she'll do great!
And then around midnight I'm going to do a video chat with my family (nieces and nephews too!)
The internet is such a wonderful thing, because of it I can see and talk to my family & friends over 7,000 miles away. (And watch Dr. Who and other TV shows I'm trying to catch up on).
Well since everyone else has been doing thankful lists I think I will too. (well, I'm obviously a follower) and these aren't in any particular order:
I'm thankful for the gospel, through it I've come to know that I am loved and can be so much more than I let myself be. Heavenly Father and Jesus see my true potential even if I allow it to be shadowed with trivial things and my own self-doubts. And days that I feel alone I have to remind myself "I'm not alone and He loves me, I can do this!"
I'm thankful for mashed potatoes. You don't realize how lucky you are that you can get mashed potatoes at KFC. Don't take it for granted! Don't get me wrong, I like chips but I just want mashed potatoes right now and I LOVE the KFC gravy which I can't get here. I think I'm going to have to make some mashed potatoes and gravy.
I'm thankful for a great family. Sometimes I wonder about them but that's all in jest, I have an amazing family. I'm one lucky girl!
As stated above, I'm thankful for the internet. Even though theres some bad bad stuff out there it can be used for some great stuff too.
I know I'm thankful for other things, but I'm really tired right now. I got up at 8 am to video chat with Amanda (I know!) I don't do mornings and I really want to take a nap but I need to start getting ready for my day now.
OH! I'm thankful for my duvee. It's so cold at night and the heater doesn't make it into my room, so that duvee is my lifesaver. It's so warm.... in fact, I want to go back underneath it... maybe for an hour? I wonder if I could spare an hour...
