Alaska - Seldovia

Isn't Steve adorable? If you knew him you would know that he's made of awesome and he had a birthday on Wednesday. He's now a year older.

Here is Steve having an encounter with "Boob-a-licious" on the downtown boardwalk. We did not come up with the name, that's what the town calls her.

Seldovia is a big fishing town, so during the summer when it warms up and the King Salmon are swimming, apparently it gets busy.

It's a very cute little town. And there was still snow. Steve and I had a mini snowball fight.

These were taken around 9:30 at night. Yep the sun wasn't setting until after 10:00. You wouldn't think it but the couple extra hours really throws you off. (and then it rises around 6)

During the morning I took a walk and ended up at Inside Beach. It was a small beach but cute. Yay beach!

There was ice on the rocks and kelp. It was so cool! (and cold!)

After breakfast Steve and I went for a walk to find Outside Beach. It was a bit of a walk but we found it!

This vertical cloud didn't really move with the few other clouds in the sky, we believe Mt. Redoubt was steaming that morning.

Steve found a hairy shell

Steve went on a hunt for glass rocks. He was told that Seldovia recycles the glass by throwing them in the water and they crash and break-up against the rocks and become colored stones on the beach. Steve was hunting for a green one. I found a clear glass rock on Inside beach and I just thought it was interesting, so I kept it. (I found him a green one!)

Snow on the beach! Snow on the beach! I always wanted to see snow on the beach. And no, I'm not smiling weird, I'm mimicking the whale. See, it has a weird large smile too and my arms are the fins. Hee-hee I'm so clever.

Well, that's a nutshell of beautiful Seldovia. Next stop is Homer and the bald eagles!

Your pictures are great. It looks like you had such a good time. Maybe your mom and I will go up next year for Steve's birthday and be there for the start of the tourist season in May.
