Back from Comic-con....

Comic-con was a blast!! I had so much fun and I'll be posting pictures and stories shortly. I'm so exhausted and I can only crop and go through my pictures during the evening after work, so basically I probably won't have my posts about it done completely until this weekend.

Hugh Jackman stopped by and surprised us before the Twilight panel. (That day was SO worth sleeping on the sidewalk infront of the convention center.) He came with footage from the new Wolverine movie that they just finished filming. And I'm SO excited that GAMBIT is in it!!! (And Deadpool! Deadpool is AWESOME to!!!)

And I must say that I absolutely adore Robert Pattinson more now! He was SO cute trying to hide from everyone (there were 6500 people in this hall) and drinking a lot of water. From an interview I read that his game plan was "Not to wet his pants." Hopefully he was able to stick to that plan after all of the water he drank.

I fail... (sorry for the giant post)

I completely failed on the mission of informing you of Batman's awesomeness. Last week was a blur and there were reasons that I was unable to get online. But let's just say that Batman has the highest caliber of awesome available to anyone... ever!

I'm thinking last week was a blur because of my new job. Everything just ran together and is a big blur. Honestly I can only think of a few things that I did last week. One was to see Les Miserables up in Tigard. I really love this musical and I forgot how much until I saw it again. My dad didn't come with Derek and I because he's a Les Mis snob. "If it's not done by a touring broadway troupe then it's not worth going. blah blah blah" So even though it was done by an off broadway troupe that does plays / musicals all year around he didn't give it a shot. But he missed out because they did a wonderful job! The music in this really moves me and I love the message it has. Honestly I can listen to the music over and over again. Which sometimes I do.

The other thing I did last week (besides prepare my talk for Sunday) was to film a pirate commercial for our financial seminar for enrichment. If you're thinking how those two things relate, trust me they do and it was hilarious! (Thanks Katie and Jackie!!) We took a lot of fun pictures while we were getting ready to film this and I think if I post any here they'd kill me. Since I like living I'm not going to tempt fate. But after everything was done we watched Penelope.

I had watched it earlier with my sister but it's such a cute movie! I absolutely love Penelope's wardrobe. That costume designer is a genious! I want to grow up to be like her!! I'm very tempted to make the jacket. I love buttons and this jacket has all different types of buttons, everything was so whymsical and I don't think I spelt that right. I recommend this movie to everyone! It's one of my new favorites!

I'm getting ready for Comic-Con. I'll fly to San Diego tomorrow morning. My boss was very nice and let me get off early today to get ready. I didn't even ask, she told me to do it. I really do like my new boss and co-workers, they're very nice. (Never fear old place of employment I still love you guys very much and miss working with you!!! You all are truly the best!)

Since Twilight is my newest obsession I'm taking full advantage of the author and movie people being at comic-con on Thursday. I've already planned "Operation Vampire" which if it's successful will allow us good seats at the panel. But I won't discuss it here because I don't want to jinx myself. I think it's pretty genious and we get a bonus with it. So here's hoping it works! Hopefully Sarah (my sister-in-law) will be able to make it with me, my niece has been sick. So it all depends on how she does today. But basically Thursday will be dedicated to Twilight. I've tried to warn Sarah about conventions, this is her first one, and boy is she in for a shocker! HaHaHa!!

And Friday night I'm dedicating to Avatar the Last Airbender. I SO love this show and I believe Nickelodeon didn't promote it nearly as it deserved. Shut up! If you watched it, then you'd understand. The writing is solid. They don't treat children like they're dumb. They actually have a continuing storyline and have delt with pretty heavy issues at times. And the animation is top notch. The fighting sequences are amazing! Now that the series is over I'm very interested to hear what's next. They left a few things open *cough*Zuko's mommy*cough* so I hope that means we'll be seeing another story from them.

Last night was our last belly dancing class. I had fun taking it with my presidency. Our teacher was very good and she's willing to come out and do a class for our enrichment sports group. So that'll be cool. I would like to continue taking classes and she teaches Thursday nights, so I may have to drop in for classes.

Cheers!

Day 5 of Batman

He's so awesome that he's inspired an amazing Hoodie.... I want one.

Day 6 of Batman

I'm still having an allergy attack or something... my throat still hurts, I'm congested and I keep getting these killer headaches. This seriously needs to stop....I can't be sick!!! Anyways onto the Batman is awesome post!!

Batman is awesome because he knows how to express himself and his feelings. (This lovely piece of fanart is done by lannakitty and can be found on her deviant art account.)

Isn't that picture awesome?! It cracks me up every time I see it.

Hopefully it's not too hard to read. The most important one is the very last entry that says "Forced to sing lounge songs" I bet it was Catwoman that forced him to sing the songs... she's probably the only one capable of doing it.

I'm now off to bed....

Day 7 of Batman (and Comic-con)

The anticipation has probably been killing you, so I won't make you wait anymore here's the seventh reason that Batman is awesome...

Christian Bale plays him! I truly love Christian Bale (even before he was Batman.) Christian Bale is the BEST Batman in the history of the movies!! (In my humble opinion.) And I truly hope that the rumor is true that he'll be at Comic-con in San Diego!! (I'd really love to have a picture taken with him!)

Speaking of comic-con and moving away from Batman and onto another obsession that I have... If you couldn't tell from my widgets to the right hand side I'm a tad bit obsessed with Twilight. And I'm the reason that my sister and sister-in-law are obsessed (You ARE welcome!)

Well, the author along with some cast members and the director from the movie will be at comic-con and I'm SO going to that panel.

I had resigned myself to the fate that I'd be surrounded by giggling 13-year old fangirls and I came up with a plan! I would befriend one just in case the opportunity came for photos with actors, director, and author. I'd ask my new found friend to take my picture with them and I'd hope she wouldn't run off with my camera. Because I really love that camera. So now I don't have to worry about that plan because tonight my sister-in-law, Sarah, decided to take a little trip to San Diego and attend Comic-con on Thursday. (woo-hoo!!! We're going to have so much fun!) The whole way this came about was rather amusing even if my brother doesn't think so. But I'm way excited because we get to act like little giggling school-girls together!

Since the convention is basically sold out & she only wants to attend the panel she'll be in San Diego for a couple days and she'll do some site seeing on Friday while I'm at the convention center. We'll still have some time to bond so it'll be fun.

I'll have company the entire time now! The first two nights I'm there I'll be with Sarah and then the last two nights I'll be meeting two friends from Utah so I'll be with them. I'm way excited!

Day 9 & 8 of Batman

Well today is two days because I had a massive headache yesterday & I was totally sick to my stomach because of the pain. So I went to bed WAY early because I can NOT be sick when I start a new job. I've popped some vitamin C and zinc so I better get... better. I did wake up feeling good this morning so it was nice.

I really do like my new job, everyone is WAY nice.

Ok, enough with the no batman stuff... here are TWO, yes TWO reasons that Batman is awesome... drum roll please....

Day 9 -

Batman's utility belt!! Come on, you know it's awesome. He keeps EVERYTHING in there, I swear! I'm sure there's even a place for my cell phone or chapstick ... er.. I mean his cell phone or chapstick. Would those be called the batphone and the batstick? (But honestly even without his utility belt he'd be awesome because...

Day 8 -

Batman can fight and kick serious butt! He can majorly kick any bad guy's bottoms, he takes none of their crap. Criminals may think that they're above the law but Batman IS the law! Watch out Jackie Chan you've got nothing on Batman! (Oh, that rhymes!)

Ah... Batman how I love.....

Disclaimer - Jackie Chan is seriously cool and all but he can't compete with Batman. No offense Jackie Chan fans.

10 Days of Batman

In anticipation of the new Batman movie (July 18th) I'll be celebrating with a post each day discussing how awesome Batman is.

Oh, I should change my layout to be a batman layout!! hmmm.....

When I first heard about Batman: Gotham Knight I was so excited, but honestly I forgot all about it until last week. I was at a store (possibly Target) and I could have sworn I saw it there. And then a few days later I was like "Oh yeah that movie!!" But I wasn't able to find it since and I've been looking! Well, today I saw it at Target and so I now know I wasn't hallucinating! (But the sad thing is I read that the release date for this was yesterday... so maybe I was hallucinating.)

This is 6 animated shorts of Batman which take place after Batman Begins and before Batman Dark Knight. (Think Animatrix for the Matrix movie) And here's the kicker of this being awesome, Kevin Conroy the voice of Batman from the animated series which ran from 1992-95, was Batman in any of the animated movies that spun from this series, Superman episodes that had Batman, AND was old Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond is the voice of Batman in this! Bow down to the master.

I so can't wait to watch this DVD!!!

And on the non-Batman related front, yesterday was my last day. I'm so going to miss working there because I loved everyone I worked with and I really liked my job. I start a new job tomorrow and I have to be conservative. No more white trash hairdos for work. And I can't walk that casual line of business casual like I used to. I think I'll survive though. :-)

Cheers!

Sewing in progress...

I'm trying to complete three hip scarfs for our bellydance class, which is tomorrow night... well since it's after midnight it would be tonight.

I'm having a problem which has stumped me. There needs to be a layer of coins for them to make noise, but if there are too many layers it's too heavy for the material.

Sometimes when I get stumped I just freeze and get frustrated. Frustrated to the point that I need to take a break. But sometimes when I take a break on projects it ends up being several years. (Yes, I have projects from several years ago! I'm so sad!!) But I don't have that option here. But I believe I have a solution.

Hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures of us wearing them at class tomorrow!
